uuid.withuse.io is a free online UUID generator supporting versions 1, 3, 4, 5 and 7, built for developers who need identifiers quickly — without ads in the way, without sign-ups, and without their data leaving the browser.
Why we built it
This is the first tool from Withuse. Our name carries our mission: build useful things (use), together (with) — small, genuinely helpful tools that make the web a little better.
Principles
- Client-side only — generation happens in your browser using the Web Crypto API. Nothing is sent to a server.
- Free forever — no accounts, no limits that matter.
- Standards-first — implementations follow RFC 9562.
Who writes this
The guides on this site are written and maintained by the Withuse team. Every code snippet is executed on the runtime version named in the article before publishing — Python 3.13, Node.js 23, JDK 21 — so the output shown is what the code actually produced, not what it should produce in theory. When a language or database ships a change that affects a guide (a new stdlib function, a new UUID version), we update the page and bump its visible date rather than leaving stale advice in place.
